Speedometer error

Hi, I have a problem with my speedometer that he is always pointing about 40% too much than reality.
I checked the speedometer cable, the speedometer adapter on the transmission, and the connection at the back side of the speedometer but all seems to be OK.
The only thing I can think of is that the flywheel inside the speedometer is rotating to quickly. Does anyone has experience on how to adjust this? Is there any possible regulation on the speedometer?
Thanks

Dirk

I would recommend getting the unit rebuilt/calibrated.

There is a tee-ninesy little bushing on the flywheel at the end opposite of the cable, and if it's worn out, the flywheel could actually be dragging the pointer's wheel around farther than the magnets would.

In any case, I would recommend that it be sent out to a specialist.
