Speedometer Cable Routing - BN7

I just looked at the Moment/Anderson book and saw the speedo cable going through the tunnel carpet on a BJ8. The pictures of the BN7/BT7 don't show any cable. Does anyone know how it is supposed to be routed?

I am the original owner of an unrestored BN7 (Mk II). The speedometer cable enters the cockpit area between the firewall and the carpeted boxed shaped section to which the tunnel is screwed. It emergies just about the center of the car. It does not enter through the carpet as shown in the referenced Restoration Guide but about 8" forward.

Thanks, Ed. That makes sense.
