Speedo is accurate -- who knew?

So on my short after dinner test drive last night I brought along a GPS to see how far off the speedometer would be. I switched to a 3.9 rear end, so expected things to be off. The speedo wasn't accurate before anyways. It's not the original unit, but is from a Bugeye as far as I could tell.

So I checked it against the GPS and it was spot on. How, I'm not sure, but it is pretty much right on the money. I'm flumoxed, but happy.

Same here......my speedo is spot on, but the odometer is 5% off (shows ~.95 miles for every actual mile I drive).

I'm hoping to avoid tickets. I had a laugh today while out on a testing run. I've got a temporary tag in a folder in the car, while the plates have 1-year-expired stickers on them -- oh, and I'm running a straight pipe.

Passed a police officer today. They didn't seem to care.

Ooooo devious, then when your estate sells the car 100000 miles from now, the odometer will only show 95000. tricky!

I call it the "cute" factor -- the car, certainly not me! I count on the little Bugeye to be disarming enough to get me out of trouble.
