No idea where/when I replaced this thing but it appears I got a cable long enough to tie into the diff! Anyone able to measure theirs and post the result? This must have been one-a Doc Entropy's: "I'll get the right one later-- this Rollie one will work fer right now." fixes! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
 
Doc - what year MGB? how are you routing it - directly out of the back of the speedo or with an angle drive? Did you order the one for the overdrive by mistake?

Some MGB's used an angle drive & the speedo cable exited the firewall over by the oil pressure line instead of straight out behind the speedo itself....those cables are longer than normal but still not as long as one for an OD.
 
Early car Tony, angle drive on the gearbox... I suspect I just grabbed a cable off the shelf. Likely not even for a B.
 
That cable exits the firewall on thew passenger side of the transmission tunnel below the oil line.

Huh?!? This one comes straight from the speedo thru the firewall just under the left hood hinge and goes below from there to the angle drive on the gearbox.
 
Ah, no angle drive on the back of the speedo then...
 
73 B w/OD- straight out the back of speedo, thru firewall no angle driver either end = 72". as long as me.........
