Speedi-sleeve

Moss catolog has them for $40.95 for a 1500
Check on this, but I think the part # is 520-510.

I have a 1500 Midget. What part are you referring to? I don't see anything called a speedi sleeve or part number 520-510. Since I'm currently replacing my water pump, fan, fan clutch, & radiator after the failure of the torerance ring I'm confused.

If you do a part number search on the moss site, it will come up. It is under triumph spitfire -engine -1500 -internal. it is actually a sleeve for the front timing cover seal.

budk, are you rebuilding a water pump?

???? Your water pump is leaking oil??? Curious.
There is a Speedi-Sleeve for the crankshaft pulley at the timing cover. You could likely buy one locally. Ask your local parts store for a CR timing cover seal and sleeve.

There's no place on a water pump that would or could use a Speedi Sleeve.

I know that a Speedi-Sleeve is used to fix a worn crankshaft so that a new oil seal won't be tore up and leak but I didn't see what it had to do with a water pump replacement.

Me too Tony, me too.

Ahh, pull the cover and add a new oil seal, use a speedi sleeve if required as folks have noted above.

Oh yea, info., Hap can convert your timeing chain cover to the updated seal from the old felt one. Think I heard him say that, in any case it is an option.
