Speaking of Parking lots

When my wife and I walk the dog we clean up after of course, but we have also gotten in the habit of picking up any stray trash we see, usually grabbing a fast food or grocery sack that was discarded and filling it up before taking it to the nearest trash can. Luckily our neighborhood is not so bad so this makes a difference. Our unofficial, local "adopt a highway" program.

We are the opposite - I swear every leaf and bit of trash in the entire neighbourhood blows into my driveway. - so, lots gets picked up!

Now days there are enough surveillance cameras around schools such that it would probably be easy to find the culprit.
I think I have posted this before, but we have a nice wooded hiking area right across the street from our house. Mary and I go walking there many mornings during the week. Unfortunately it is not uncommon for dirt bags to drive out there in the middle of the night and use the tara as their own personal dump site! One such pile we found on morning: (I sent these pictures to our city of course).

You've shared this before and I think I've shared this response before. We have a lake near here that belongs to the City of Lawton, I do a lot of my shooting/hunting/fishing out that way and there are a few places where locals have just dumped things like this above, and places where teens hang out and have brought couches, mattresses, etc. It is very trashy and when I am out and about I find myself always picking up the small trash.

In another thread were were discussing the perils of people driving too fact though parking lots. Not wanting to hijack that thread, I wanted to vent about a couple other parking lot behaviors that drive me over the edge.

1. People who don't put their carts back in the cart area. Why are some people so danged lazy that they just leave their shopping carts in the parking space next to their car when the cart placement area is like 10 feet away?

For the same reason I presume that some folks walk offand leave their carts/baskets sitting at the checkout or in the door of thestore rather than put them in the storage they’re walking right past. They’re clueless or assume the rest of us workfor them cleaning up the mess.
