Thanks gents.
I have never seen the light bar installed, I think I will go with Bill's suggestion of chrome plastic caps over the bolts. My car has the interior light mounted on a bracket on the bottom lip of the metal dash frame. It lights up the drivers side foot well. Installation looks to be original. I have also seen a light box fitted just behind the hand break, these look good but also pricey.

I have a pair of POLK 6x9's on the rear shelf and a pair of 4"Polks in the kidney panels. The 4" don't give a lot of bass bit the 6x9's make up for that.
 
Good article! I bought a new 8 track stereo with period push buttons on ebay for my 72' TR6 restoration. I would like to make the speakers look stock but out of the way. I use to hate the Kidney speakers though when I had overdrive probems and constantly removing the console. I especially liked the speaker install on the rear interior board. My friend from the UK said that everyone there installed speakers on the back shelf in small enclesures.

I made some backs for the speakers panels, makes a noticable improvement, thanks.

Craig, for lack of a better picture, the light bar (face plate for heater controls) is the piece above my radio that has white lettering for the controls above it.

Just want to remind everyone that is considering rear speakers for their cars. Please, bolt them down securely, especially if you are considering speaker boxes. These things can become lethal projectiles in the event of a collision, Lord forbid. I know I've posted this tidbit before, but it can be a real problem.
 
Kinda gives new meaning to the expression "feeling the sound go right through you", right Bill?
