Spax Tube Shock Rear Suspension Kit

I am in the process of starting back on the restoration of a BJ8 I have owned since 1988. It has had all the panel work done on top of a new Chassis from Kilmartins in Australia. I now live in Sydney.

Kilmartins chassis has the adjustable suspension towers for the fronts and I purchased the Koni Shocks when I ordered the chassis.
I'm looking about at sensible modifications (there's plenty to choose from) and the rear tube suspensions suggest themselves. My Armstrongs would have to be rebuilt in any case.

I would like to know if anyone has a drawing of the fixing set up - the kit of parts I can see on the SC Parts site looks very small so I am a bit concerned about load distribution. I did see the Steve Gerow and Red57 threads in the forum from 2018.

Is there more recent experiences with the Spax mod? Are there drawings or photos of the current kit in use?

I have written to SC Parts asking if they have drawings or instructions.

Peter,

A conversion kit popular in the States is Udo Putzke's Bilstein based kit. It is fully reversible. The business was recently purchased by Steve Kirby (now Fahrspass For Healey). I don't know if you can buy just the rear shock kit or if you'd want to have Konis on the front and Bilstiens (or Spax) on the rear. Website: FahrspassForHealey.com.

Here are the instructions for the Fahrspass kit for Phase II BJ8. It shows the bits provided with the shocks.
