I have always had good luck with either NGK or Bosch Platinum (heat range according to usage)
 
NGK BP7ES. If they look to be too cold after a few hundred miles, switch to BP6ES. NGK's heat rating system is opposite most. The higher the number, the COLDER the plug.

Sorry; I used to be able to get "Sample Plugs" from the Factory & Distribute Accordingly (My Preferance as to Whom): Well; Those days (Un-Fortunately) are Long Gone! No More "Free Bees"!

Thanks Russ. I will try them. Yeah, the good ole days of trying stuff for free are pretty much gone.
 
If I remember right, A series guru Vizard says the NGK BP6ES is the best for most applications in his book. That's by memory though- I'll look in a bit when I get a chance.
 
Yep, BP6ES it is for standard engines, however he doesn't seem to have much trouble with the other popular brands as well. I think the key is start with something close in a brand you like, then make adjustments within that brand or close alternatives until you find what works best for your engine.

Having said that, I have no idea what works best for my engine! Hopefully I'll be able to find out more this spring when the wx gets better.
