Hey again...
It's more the type of coil that allows wider gaps...But when I had a Pertronix Ignitor and a standard coil in my 74, I had no misfires with my Champion RN12YC spark plugs gapped at .035.
I'm back to points now with a Bosch Blue coil and when I was using the RN12YC I had no misfires with a .032 gap.
If you start getting misfires at high rpms, it could be because you have too large a gap for the spark to arc.
