Spark plug connector and dizzy repair

Country flag
Offline
While having my dizzy rebuilt by advanced distributor, Jeff called me and said the plug connectors were not very good and were not making good contact. He is replacing them. These were new one year ago from a major provider. He said the new ones should make a major difference. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
He also said that cracks in the shaft housing are common in BJ8s due to over tightening the mounting bracket. He is replacing with a stronger housing shaft. Has anyone heard of problems with this?
He uses wider cam followers do reduce wear and hollow points to last longer without having pitting. (I think I got that right).
It should be back in the next day or two and let you all know the results.

Well If you use Bosh connectors you won't have any connector problems.

OF course thats why I recommend the gap
be filled with JB Weld to preclude such a failure. Or make a new solid ring and fit it on in the case the original one has broken.

Blue Streak used the hollow point technology umpteen years ago to reduce point pitting.

But if you get a Pertronix then the point problem goes out the window.-
