spare tire

My 59 Bugeye didn't come with a spare tire. I'd llike to pick something up cheap. I don't care if it matches or is any way authentic just as long as it's safe and will get me home. I guess the size is 4 hole 13x5? Is that correct? Any other specs I should look for? Suggestions other than ebay?

You should be able to come up with a stock rim rather easily. The bolt pattern is 4 holes on 4" centers, 13" x 4" wide. Next go to your tire guy and find a space saver 13" tire (from an old Honda or such) and have it mounted to rim. You'll almost double your "trunk" space.

If you cannot find one locally, I will ship you one for the shipping cost. At last count I had 17 rims stored in various locations. If you are driving anywhere near SW Ohio, I would give you one with the tire already mounted and aired up. The tire may not be dated for regular use, but will certainly function as a spare for many years.

Thanks guys, very helpful as always. Especially thanks John. I'm near Poughkeepsie NY so I will look around here first.
