Argh, I just threw one out last week on a trip to the dump, the fiberboard was crumbling apart and the carpet was shot. It was this pressed fiberboard with metal edges riveted on, and carpet on top. I may still have a picture somewhere.
A guy sold me a spare tire cover, but it was from an earlier TR. They don't look that difficult to build, but if any of the big three reproduce one correctly, I would rather buy it since I have so much other work to do on my TR6. Does anyone know if any of the big three produces one that looks original?

Attached are the pics you requested. YES, the rear lip and the two bottom rails are metal. Additionally, the bottom rails had felt on the bottom... see pics. Hope this helps.
