Spare Tire Cover

Hello All,

The fiberboard spare tire cover in my car was separated from the two metal rails when I bought it years ago, and thankfully, I am getting around to such details in my restoration project. How are these rails attached to the board? Rivets? Tiny nuts and bolts? Any help is appreciated.

CB

P.S. Believe it or not, the original felt is still on the rails!

Not sure what car this is but on my TR4 the answer would be neither. It is held by steel brads -- similar in design to the brass brads you might have used to hold sheets of paper together only much stouter -- i.e. a flat head with a pair of metal tangs that go thru the hole and spread on the opposite side.

No idea what they are really called or if they are available. If a pic of the TR4 ones would help let me know.
