Connecticut wild turkeys. Not the brightest of critters, but usually well fed.

Bunch of them cross our yard fairly frequently. Our dog, Jax, goes nuts when he sees them.

As I was walking our neighborhood a few days back,
I noticed a lot of Vultures circling not too far from me.
I wondered if I needed to move faster.

I'm told that the California Dept of Fish & Game traded some pheasants to another state for wild turkeys. Now they are everywhere here.

Division biologists, in cooperation with the NJ Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, reintroduced wild turkeys in 1977 with the release of 22 birds. Now we have over 20,000. Most have wandered through my backyard.
