Fog diffused morning light. 18~140mm at 140, ∱5.6 1/40 sec. ISO 400.

Nice light! In the first pic looks like focus might have been a tad forward of the eye.

Had the AF point "mid-snoot" as I recall. But at ∱5.6 DoF is awfully shallow with the lens fully extended.

Same lighting, different cat. Used the 50mm prime ∱1.4 at ∱2.2, 1/125th sec. ISO 200.

Nice! That 50 prime does a great job in low light. My 50 1.4 is one of the old EF mounts I’ve kept and use with an adapter.
On looking at this thread and the optics involved, I realize the DoF in the images would be the same regardless of the sensor size (or focal length). Angle-of-acceptance and ∱-stop are the same in all cases, only the size of the sensor/medium recording the image is different. DUH!! Never gave it consideration 'til I had no DoF preview "button" on the D7500 for that last shot and took my 'best guess' at it from familiarity with a prime 50 and aperture at the distance.
