Sources for Original Paint Colors

My bugeye engine compartment is still the original Cherry Red. I need to paint a few panels due to rust spots or battery acid corrosion, but I want to keep the original paint wherever I can. The car is a shell on stands, and I have nothing removable with the original color to take to a shop and get a match.

Does anyone know of a source that supplies the original colors for touch-up? I've seen the paint codes but I don't know how to turn that into a can of paint. I've tried several rattle can colors and nothing comes close. This is driving me nuts...

Thanks for any help.

Michael

Microfinish in Harahan, La. Don't know if they have your color. They may be able to mix if you have the code.

Try these guys: https://www.automotivetouchup.com/
On a side note, I just painted the engine compartment, inside and bottom of my car with TCP's own acrylic urethane and was very satisfied. I'll probably use the same stuff to paint the outside of the car when it's ready. anyway they have the color chip you need as mentioned above

Thanks to all.

I had found the chart previously and tried to order the original on Ebay to get a color sample. Unfortunately the vendor sent the wrong chart.

I will give the sources a try. I hadn't realized a shop could mix a color from the code. That is good news. If I buy a quart maybe I could redo the entire car- twice.

Unfortunately my skill level is still limited to an aerosol can...

John-Peter-

I went to the website. I was there before but as a newbie it's hard to follow. I see listings for quarts and gallons, but not aerosol. I'll call them tomorrow.

Thanks again- especially for the code number.

Be aware that the Autocolor phone number is no longer operative. It goes to some outfit that is buying up 858 numbers.

Please disregard last message- number is active.

For those interested, the prices for the matching colors are as follows:

1 quart paint, $52.

Each spray can filled from the quart, $9. Quart provides up to 6 cans.

Spray can only, $35.

If this works it will be the best money I've ever spent...

Thanks again.

keep us posted with pics!

Oh me O my. I would buy a spray can of Old English White if someone is ordering.
