Hello,
I have been doing a search for new kingpins for my 1960 Bugeye with the original 948 engine. I have a few feelers out, but there seems to be no source for these that I can find on the internet so far. Does anyone know if these are available any more and why they seem to be so scarce?
Kevin

Moss and Victoria British have them available as part of a rebuild kit. Their thinking is probably based on the need for a full rebuild if the kingpins need to be replaced. Try Austin Healey Spares in the UK, they may have only the kingpins. Inspect everything first though to be certain that is all you need as it is likely more items will need to be replaced (therefore the kits).

When in doubt about parts, one of the best places to check FIRST is Peter the Parts Pimp, (PPP) at World Wide Auto Parts. No junk, ever. If he doesn't have it, he can tell you where to find quality. ....

Isn't that his name, and he is proud of it.

Thanks for your help everyone. I bought a complete front end rebuild kit from Moss a number of years ago in anticipation of my current rebuild - I bought it during a sale and never dreamed it would take me so long for me to get to it. I feel like an idiot, because just this one time I forgot to check all the parts. During this entire restoration it feels like I spend half of my time sending back bad parts or trying to get parts they shorted me. In this case, they neglected to send me the kingpins, bushings, and bottom seals. Now I am stuck trying to get these parts that no one seems to carry individually so far. I will check some of the sources all of you have listed. Thanks.

Been there done that - anyone need some MGB rear bearings?

Kevin:
You can try Dom Valentino, a BCF'r, as he just hauled 12,000 LBS (yes, 6 tons) of Spridget parts he bought on ebay. He mentioned there were many tubs of new parts so maybe you can get lucky! Dom just brought this stuff home yesterday so he hasn't even had a chance to inventory the haul yet but let him know what you are looking for.

Kevin: I have a pretty good set for drum brakes. That is what you need, is'nt it? Probably send you bottom pans, pins, brake backing plates, cylinders, hoses, the works. Contact me off the list if you're interested.
