TR4/4A Source for good convertible-top snaps

I am having trouble finding snaps that are strong enough for the side flaps of a TR4A top. The ones provided with the top were clearly inadequate, so I shopped around and bought others, but they were no better.

Anyone have a source for workable snaps? Would it be better to install a lift-the-dot fastener in place of the outermost snap?

Might check with local boat yards for stainless used on boat canvas. Never had a failure.

Also, you might consider the Tenax fasteners for the outer edges. They aren't original to our cars, but, they are a true positive lock. I used them on the front tonneau snaps on my TR4. They stay snapped, much better then the regular snaps.
