Source for good Bugeye parts?

I am embarrassed to say that it was 20 years ago when I started restoring my Bugeye I bought for $100. It started out just fixing this and that. Before you knew it, the car was totally dismantled and ended up as a total restoration. I am finally getting ready to put this whole thing back together. My current frustration is getting parts. I am less than happy with parts I have ordered from M and VB. Does anyone have any sources for parts that they are happy with?
Thanks, Kevin

Mine was built entirely, well almost, from parts from Moss via Tony the Autoist.

Most Moss parts are just fine and many are better than that.

I much prefer M over VB, but am frustrated by the steep S&H charges.

For harder to get parts I look to Moss UK.

If you go through Tony you do not have the steep handling and shiping charges.

Don't be embarrassed - you're doing it and that's what matters. Coming to your question - I've been happy with Moss and VB but I think we've all experienced that they aren't completely consistent. Are there specific parts you are concerned about? Post them and we'll let you know what we've done.

Tony at theautoist.com is a great resource as everyone above has mentioned. He also may have some used parts you need in his amazing stash. I also really like bpnorthwest.com . However, they carry mostly later model parts, so they may not be able to help you much unless you are planning to update the brakes and drivetrain.

The BEST resource for rebuilt shocks (as well as few other suspension components and great advice) is PeterC at https://www.nosimport.com/

There was a time before I knew Tony that my frustration with Moss and VBs seemingly unfair pricing and S&H policies sent me to eBay to look for parts. This turned out to be a very bad deal for me as I frequently had to replace the parts purchased from eBay with new parts purchased from Moss.

Pardon me for jumping in here but one part that I have been less than impressed with from Moss is the front turn signal socket (part number: 159-900). I literally had two (2) that were defective such that either a) it caused a short or b) it would not hold the bulb. Perhaps I should just try VB but do you know of any other suppliers?

Mike

Call Moss and tell them your prob. I bet they will get one from stock, have the tech folks check it and ship it for free. They are helpful folks.
