I need two new mirrors 4 5/16" and 1/16" thick. Anyone know of a source for these? The two mirrors I have a number of chips on the circumference, so they are not good candidates for resilvering. Thanks, Kevin

I was on vacation but I recall this post and I see there wasn't a lot of response, I'm looking at buying some new fender mirrors, did you check https://www.texautomotive.com/

Not sure of your application, are we taking about exterior mirrors?

When I was restoring the interior rear view mirror for my 1962 TR4 I looked everywhere for a thin mirror and no one had them. I finally found exactly what I needed in the oddest place, TARGET.

The plastic handled mirrors they have in their cosmetic and hair product section have a thin mirror approximately 6 inches in diameter. If that meets your needs, be very careful when you are taking the mirror out of the plastic handle since it is glued in with a few dabs of silicone adhesive. I popped it out, cleaned the excess silicone off the back and took it to a local mirror shop where they cut it to size and ground the corners round using my original weathered mirror for the pattern.

When I was putting it in the mirror frame I cracked the first one and had to repeat the entire process again.

Let us know when you find what you need.

I am also unsure of your application but I got a RIGHT side mirror from an old Ford F150 from a junkyard and had several mirrors cut from it by a local glass shop. The mirror for the TR3 is quite small and offered a very small field of view as original. The convex one from the Ford gives a much better (and Larger) rear view.

Something I learned back at the beginning of my "frugal days":

Cut a piece of clear glass to the size you need. Spray one side black, or mount the clear glass over a black background (black sprayed aluminum foil, tin, etc.).

Vwah-la! It's a mirror!
