Son choosing a University

It is unbeleivable my baby boy is headed off to college this fall. We have toured Texas A&M , VMI, Norwich, The Citadel, and few others. I am trying hard to remain nuetral and he is being very smart about it and has narrowed it down to three (VMI, A&M, and Norwich).

He is taking in to account the cost, the scholarships they are offering, the graduation rate, the prestige, the job placement, internship opportunities...

It is driving me crazy hoping he will decide soon and I so much like Norwich and they are offering him the world to go there but the mystic of VMI is his pick, but A&M is offering a great financial package and the fact there are 100 times (seriously) more girls there than at VMI.

It is hard to remain nuetral

Hard to stay neutral........
I am in the same boat.
Good luck!!

Scott- Does your son want to follow in your footsteps?

How could you not go Norwich?
It has something to do with the time I
spent with my Lotus.

The Shenandoah Valley is a beautiful place and VMI alums take care of each other (jobs). There is also a great British car show up there in nearby Wayesboro every October.

All you need is one good one.

I did "quantity" and it didn't work out for me.

VMI is a great school, IF you can survive the Rat Line! Excellent academics, and pretty difficult for students.

Not for the party-types, definitely.

VML grads are everywhere in VA and the mid-atlantic region. They definitely stick together and help each other. And, I'd be surprised if you could find a prominent civil engineering firm in this state without a VML engineering grad in it somewhere. They seem to be everywhere you look!

And if you want a school with grand history . . . VMI has it in spades.

Tough, but great school in a beautiful setting. :yesnod:

VMI just has a grip on him, the history, the education. I loved Norwich and they have offered him such a great cost deal, but Texas A&M is just such a complete environment, an opportunity to have the Corp and to be a normal student.

I am just hope n I do not influence him

Spent a Semester in Italy with a bunch of students from Texas A&M. Several very good looking and friendly girls. Here are a few that I got to know while I was there. This was taken on the Spanish steps in Rome.
