With the rear of the UglyBug. When decelerating at the end of an interstate ramp it feels like a spring is loose/broken. I've doubled checked everything and everything seems tight and solid. I think I might just be hypersensitive to things since I'm about to go on a long drive with very few shake down miles.

I'm going to keep it on the lift and have another look in the morning. Tonight the only issue I saw was a leaking damper.

I recall an instance in another vehicle which exhibited the characteristics you mentioned. In this case the U-bolts that hold the axle to the leaf spring weren't tight. The rear end had been out of the vehicle at one time. Blocked the vehicle up with the axle hanging free and torque wrenched 'em.

I think I'm going to jack the car only partially, then retorque thespring bolts. (1/4 elliptical car)

My 58, although I checked everything, did the same thing, all was new but I still needed to tighten up the shock bolts and spring clamps after a few miles.
See you in LotO
