This is not intended to be political, so please don't take it in that direction. We were talking about it at work today, and no-one had a clear answer.
If we (as taxpayers) are paying the salary of an elected official who is seeking a different office while still holding the one they were elected to, do they still get paid, despite the fact that the official isn't actually executing the office that they were elected to?
