Wife pointed out a scratch in our stainless steel refrigerator door. Oh, oh...I'll just try a little rubbing compound. Big mistake. Scratch still there, but what the heck - I'll compound the whole door. OH NO! Huge streaks. Wife goes ballistic. "What did you do?" Moistened a dishrag and started rubbing. and rubbing. And more rubbing. Online. "WD-40. Olive Oil. Baby Oil. Bartenders Friend. Dish soap." Wife takes paper towel and starts rubbing. More rubbing. streaks still visible but much dirt is coming off and paper towel black with dirt. "It'll buff out". But I don't have a buffing wheel for my cordless drill, so its off to the hardware store. Moral. Leave the scratch alone. Over an hours work so far and streaks still visible.

1. Magnets don't stick to stainless steel.
2. We have no grandchildren to make art. Only 3 Grandcats. The only things they make go into the litterbox.

So no magnets, but glue, drywall screws, nail guns, same result.....

You could hold the cats to the door and let them scratch away, call it modern art. Stranger things have been done, and sold for millions..…

I was genuinely impressed when after recently replacing our POS Amana fridge with an LG unit, the "stainless steel" doors are actually Stainless Steel !! So many of the kitchen gizmos that are advertised as stainless are anything but. I'd be fine with them being advertised as semi-stainless.

True Value Hardware, and others I suppose, carry a stainless steel restoration kit that should take care of scratches and marring. Some uni-directional buffing with different grades of 3M pads are involved. Think DeLorean, SS car bodies.

Which one did you get - the one that connects to the Internet,or the one with a TV screen on it?

Our LG fridge was an absolute piece of garbage. Replaced the compressor assembly 3 times under warranty. After numerous calls to LG and the retailer, finally got the retailer to give us a refund in the form of credit towards purchasing a different fridge. I hope you have far better success with yours than we had with ours.

Just hit the entire thing with 1200 grit sand paper. Brushed stainless is in! :D

We got a Samsung a couple of years ago. French door with freezer below. White not SS.

So far it works OK.

It is very miserly with ice production. Fortunately we do not use much ice.

The shelve spacing seems to be designed to not match any product needing to be refrigerated so we have wasted space.

The bottom drawer is the full width of the fridge necessitating opening both doors fully to get the drawer open so it is rarely used.

I do like the freezer section as it is easier to find stuff than our side by side was.

Friends have had a large LG side-by-each with drawer beneath for nearly a decade now, no problems. That was instrumental in my choice of units. Tired of the Kelvinator/Amana/Whirlpool/GE counterfeits.

This one's a freezer over fridge, had only 36" wide opening to accommodate the unit.

We bought a Stainless Samsung with duel doors, bottom freezer, two ice makers and water dispenser in the door almost 10 years ago and it has worked flawlessly all that time. It also tells when to change the filter. The bottom freezer is ok for everyday items, but we use a large upright freezer in the garage for everything else. We have no complaints about the Samsung friges. Don't know why all the images popped up as I only chose one! ??
