This is some of the BEST surfing footage I've ever seen. These kids have a degree of board control beyond belief. The footage is 25 minutes long so plan to be mezmerized.

I was cheering, laughing, jealous and generally THRILLED by seeing these kids and the level of skill they exhibit. I guess if th' skeg's in th' soup and the board is still under your feet, get back up and RIDE it!~!! WOW!!!

Turn up th' volume, grab your young'uns and watch it!

Kind of reminds you of your old surfing days back in PA?

First Lake Erie, then Atlantic coast here, smeartarse.
And YES, LAKE ERIE gets 10 footers on occasion. When it calmed, we did THIS instead (me, 1967-ish. Old Cypress Gardens "Dick Pope, Jr." ski:

Mostly white, Pete. Notice how they get the skeg into the foam and pirouette the durn'd things! Board control like that is astounding.

I think their feet were super glued to the boards

If ya pay attention, they grab th' edge and STAY on th' boards. There's a skill level there beyond any 'normal' perception. THOSE KIDS are Championship material.

Surfboards?? i did not see any surfboards....

Yep, recognized the twice colors. Dad used to ski on a plain ol' boat paddle. He'd get up on th' Popes, throw the paddle down and jump out the popes onto the paddle. I tried it a few times and apparently it doesn't run in the family.

I've won many $20 bills with a Mowhawk canoe paddle, Billy. Start on a slalom ski and step onto the paddle... we'd use garbage can lids, pieces of 4x4, about anything to give surface resistance. Was taught by a guy who was an exhibition skiier at Cypress Gardens. I never did master coming outta the water backwards on a set of turn-arounds, tho.

...and now my old knees can't deal well with the stress so I have a pair of Connely Wide-Trak trick skis needin' a new home. :frown:
