Someone was kind enough to give me these recently - along with some Coca-Cola memorabilia. I am trying to learn more about them - figured you fine folks would appreciate seeing these!

If any of you have seen these types of items before - I'd love to learn more about them!

This looks like some sort of textile honoring a vessel, and I think might have to do with the Spanish-American War?
Someone has affixed a Naval Button to the glass on the frame.

This one is really cool - looks like it was a massive display calendar (roughly 4 foot tall) with tear-away months. The artwork is beautiful!

That's a circa WWI vintage ship. I don't know anything else, but those are cool!!!

Your red white blue textile commemorates the USA victory over Spain in the war of 1898; McKinley was President, and the other three gentlemen were admirals of the North Atlantic fleet. The ship looks like the USS Maine, whose sinking got the USA "involved".

I don't know about the Carl Knudson company, but there were literally tens of thousands of calendars like that around the USA during WW2. Wish I could see the photo more clearly to identify the ship, planes, etc. Plane is likely an F4U Corsair.

That's a *very* early display picture for Olympia Beer.

Hope this helps.
Tom

Been a while since I've seen it and I could be wrong but, this looks like Admiral Dewey's flag ship, which is preserved and berthed in Philadelphia. PJ

The USS Olympia!

Your photo, which is taken from a drawing.

Ah, yes. "Remember the Maine"! I knew it was a long time since I'd seen the Olympia and thought it looked right. But knowing about the Maine, the drawing/flag would have been more appropriate. Thanks Tom for the correction. PJ

I was thinking the vessel might be the USS Maine, as it would make sense with the theme of honoring it, and what looks like the major US leaders of the war that was started when it sank.

Where would the calendar have been displayed? At the "Carl Knutson" store? Or would these have been handed out/given away?

Here is the Olympia Beer poster:

And a Coca-Cola poster
