It's all about swashplates mixed in with cyclic and collective pitch mixing. :wink:

I bet that guy doesn't have time to scratch his nose when he's flying that thing. :laugh:

I always say that helicopters beat the air into submission.
 
I'm with Dr. John. Durn'd things are brutally UN aerodynamic. Engineered specifically to crash and kill you.

But they are designed to fly without that spinning thing in the front; and they do it well.

I like the CH-47, that big ugly bird.....flew my butt into my base in Afghanistan and later back to the plane home.
 
Only had one ChinHook ride, a cargo run. Plenty of HH-53 time tho. 40th ARRS Det 3. THAT was usually a ride. :shocked:

And the UH-1's. Seemed I couldn't get anyplace unless there was a UH-1 somewhere in the mix.
