Started thinking about dirt/sand getting into a tripod used on beaches and dirt terrain, snow came to mind as well. looked for "tripod snowshoes" and several different options came up. Manfrotto being one, at $45 a set!

So thinking about it and figuring that the things may be used once or twice a year, looked around and found a piece of 1/4" plywood I could cut three 8" circles from. Granted a bit inelegant but I think for beach use a couple times these should do.

Condoms. Weren't they used on the end of assault rifles in Vietnam? Or was that just in a movie?

:ROFLMAO:

It is true. And a simpler solution than "snowshoes"!!

Afterthought: "art imitating life."

One of these days, I hope to get down to White Sands National Park and your little invention could really come in handy when shooting on a tripod in that talcum powder sand!

Frizbees or small plastic dishes.
The curved surface would prevent them from sliding under the sand.
You see them on all the sci fi landing craft so they must know what they are doing.
Another way is to get some of that water pipe foam insulation and plug one end.
Don't split the seam of course.
