I parked my bugeye on a steep hill (with the nose pointing down) and noticed a gas leak where the fitting goes into the gas pump. Never noticed the leak before. It lifted a small area of my new paint on the frame which I admit I am not too happy about.I tried tightening the fitting while on the hill, but couldn't get it to stop. There is no apparent leak when the car is on level ground. Is there something I can put on the threads to stop it from leaking?

Octagon soap............really.
Get a bar, scrape or grind some into a powder and apply to the leak, packing it around the fitting. The leak will stop.
