SOFT TOP FRAME WEATHERSTRIP

The PO of my Spitfire glued the rubber gasket to the top of the wind screen, not to the soft top frame. What a mess it was to clean the aluminum trim piece and polish it. What do you guys use to neatly glue this weatherstrip back onto the front of the frame?

there should be groved channel rivited to the header that the weather strip slides into.no glueski
