Soft brake pedal on BJ8

The brake pedal on my car won't pump up. I've checked for leaks on the wheel cylinders, around the master cylinder and around the booster. Everything appears dry! Could the master cylinder be bad? Any ideas to try to figure out what's wrong? Thanks!

Most likely...your master cylinder is toast! Crawl under your dash, pull back the rubber dust boot on your brake master cylinder and check for leakage there! Needs a rebuild kit! And while your at it, you may as well rebuild the clutch master as well as long as the carbs are off! Michael, IL.

Well, If the car was sitting for awhile and the piston is stuck.... Its even more reason to:hammer: rebuild that master cylinder pronto! Before he takes to the open road! That dot 3 is not very kind to rubber, or anything else for that matter.
