Rainin' gatos e perros here ATM. Just saw a leak in my roof, right at the transition twixt back garage wall and "new" Girl Cave. :madder:

Went out in th' pi**in' rain and wedged a garbage bag up under the shingles just above the transition to divert as much water as possible for the duration of this deluge. Looks to be a few hours' worth this time. Last good dousing there was NO indication of leak, this has me really confuzzled. We've checked ALL of that seam repeatedly for months, every rain we've had... I didn't mention we JUST finished puttin' up drywall and painting the interior.

One step forward, two steps back.

For all this aggro I coulda been workin' on the ELAN! At least with that I'd expect advancin' to th' rear as consequence of effort. Recollect an old Amish phrase: "The hurrier I go, the behinder I get."

Times like this I envy dogs. They can counter-rotate their bodies to shake off all the water.

hah... i totally feel your pain on that one doc...

not 1 month after finishing my bath the master bath directly above mine decided to spring a toilet leak (poo side at that :eeek:smile:; I thank the inventors of latex paint, the liquids got trapped between the drywall and latex to form a huge blister on the ceiling, which was dealt with in clinical fashion. Then, not 6 months after the sewer main decided it wasn't gonna drain fast enough, and being the lowest point in the house... :madder:

Thankfully, landlords are friends and good about fixin' that stuff (if not finishing stuff). They're pretty much like I am, they tend to exhaust all DIY knowledge-n-tools before calling the pro's. Had to call in the pro's for the sewer main issue. Needed their 100' power snake to route out the property main all the way to the city pipes.

During all this mess, also discovered my fancy shower wasn't quite right and water was getting by a glass pain and soaked a knee wall.

So, now have a ~mostly~ done bathroom. Need to get in there w/ a half sheet of green board to fix the knee wall, and get the landlord to sand and paint the ceiling again.

Home maintenance. The bane of my existence just now. So-far I've escaped the need to become a "honey dipper" tho. YUK.

Must admit, the bathroom re-do is on the horizon. I'll wait 'til ya get here!

son put his hand through his shower wall, guess what we have..........
a multi year leak in the shower and termites. just ripped the wall down to the wood studs and have torn out the the shower pan.
There goes the trip to a cooler climate this summer, ALL my money is going
to the new shower..

You may hate the rain, but at least you have some, we are battling smoke filled skies and fires- 7 now at last count....

I only hate it if I have a leaky roof... and if t'wer possible we'd send some rain your way. The fires you're having are a hateful prospect. On the years we DON'T get a real rainy season we face the wildfire threat. It's akin to the feast/famine conundrum.

So.... who invented that feast/ famine thing anyway..... why can't we just have "that same ole thing"
.
.
Conundrum... just had a glass
