This is from the recent flooding that hit Middle Tennessee. Pictures are all from Nashville, but we in Clarksville were hit as well; we're also on the Cumberland River, downstream from Nashville.

Businesses here on Riverside Dr. (Who knew that name was so appropriate?), just three blocks down from the church I serve, were flooded out - couple of feet in the buildings. Flood stage of the Cumberland here is 46'; the river crested at just under 62'.

Heard a good deal about this on Fox this AM. A lot of country stars are trying to raise money to help. Heard Taylor Swift kicked in half a million from her own funds. Between this and the oil spill, our response resources are going to be strained to the limits!

Mickey, might be a good time to lay out some crawfish traps for your church crawfish boil. When you got a lemon.....

I know this is no laughing matter, good buddy. Feel for the folks up your way.

Well, for me humor is an excellent coping mechanism!

Regardless, the crawfish around here would be way too small for boiling.

...then put 'em on a hook and throw it out the back door....

Sorry to hear y'all going through that.

Flooding sucks worse than fire IMO.

Yep - most folks around here only use crawfish as fish bait.

But I'm gonna educate 'em this Saturday!

Don't suppose anyone needs a church do they? I've got one - seats about 100+ pews, pulpit, communion table, stained glass - yours for the asking, will put it in a container and everything.

seriously

The church he's got. It's the crawfish he is lacking. I think he is having them shipped up from Louisiana. If my son (whom I haven't seen in a year) weren't coming up for that weekend, the wife and I would drive up 15 sacks of crawfish (about 600 lbs of live Louisiana's best) with giant boiling pot and burner and spend the weekend. Teach those Tenneseeans how to cook and eat crawfish! Not that Mickey doesn't already know.

Me yeah.

Too bad you weren't here last night, Bill. If I do say so, I truly outdid myself with the etoufee'!
