Snow in Oklahoma!

For you guys up North, 6 inches of snow isn't anything and it really isn't anything here either, but when it sets on glare ice, the roads become impassible. We had about 5 hrs of freezing rain, not to heavy but enough to coat the roads, 20 degree weather and nothing is going away soon. Looks like we have a couple weeks of being hemmed in. The wife, two puppies and a cat! If you hear of me being put in the rubber room, don't be surprised! :concern: PJ

Good luck and best wishes. Being hemmed in at home is one of the toughest things for me. It's 40F here and raining. I guess I shouldn't complain!

Ah, Your snow is coming Nial, just give it time! :highly_amused: PJ

Just brought in a day's worth of firewood.

Best thing about retirement: sitting by the woodstove, watching the cars sliding around on the highway outside.

Snow, ice and freezing rain forecast here for tonight, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning.

Got our share of the stuff in NM too! The 26" Snow blower I bought has already come in handy - twice!

I have one in the studio and love it. Something just makes sense about it. Tercy hates them; born in 1918 he split and hauled many a'cord.

45 minutes ago had the studio a/c on; about to light the wood stove in it now....

Paul, it's the same down here. School was cancelled Friday, we dismissed early on Thursday, Monday is looking iffy; I'm happy for once that my wife shops at least a week in advance.

I just wish the temps would get above freezing. We live on a side road and it is still ice covered. Snows easy to get around in, but glare ice is another story. Just glad I'm retired and have no need to go out there. PJ

Glare ice. Nasty stuff!

Yeah the glare ice is whats bad here too. I'm glad my wife and I are teachers, we get to enjoy the snow days this way.

Well, it is clearly nasty somewhere. Tori and i are stuck in Philidelphia for the night. I wish they could have told us in Orlando that the second flight was cancelled, and the one after that overbooked, and of course it is weather related so no redress, and of course we had to check the carry on bag - you know the one with toiletries, the change of clothes etc. etc. man the airport was a mess. Good news, we are warm, dry, checked into a hotel and tomorrow Tori flies directly to Toronto, and, I get to Buffalo for the luggage and the car, sometime around 10 pm.
