I bet a lot of people have heard about the snow in New Orleans yesterday. This is what it looked like around here, 75 miles North of there.

Yep, Randi gave me a link to photos of St. Peter's Basilica, the squares & some other places with snow on them...amazing!

Poolboy- you have my sincere sympathy. Brings back horrid memories
of living in the northeast and wearing parkas and gloves and some
kinda funky LL Bean rubber shoe, I now forgot the name.

Cheer up- snow always melts.

Thanks, Dale. It's melting now and things are kind of mushy.
I bet I have a couple of pairs of those boots..the Maine Hunting Boot ?
Rubber bottoms with Leather uppers ? Old L.L.Bean's own invention.

Duck shoes, Dale??

YUPPER- that's them- Duck shoes. Green rubber bottom
with leather tie tops and waterproof. The soles gripped mud
and slush like a magnet and then dropped the mess on the living room floor ever so fast.

I much prefer my Sperry sandals.

Luckily there must be some global warming along the South Carolina coast that kept that white stuff away from me. Thanks Al.

Bean Boots or Maine Hunting Shoes/Boots. I don't think Bean ever used the term "Duck Boots" although it's common today.

Sorry to hear about the snow.

That's really very nice music for driving in the usual Scottish winter cold & wet (not to mention the usual Scottish summer cold & wet), fantasizing about being some place warmer with appropriate liquid refreshment....
