Spitfire Smurf blue Spitfire

This weekend I bought a new Triumph, a Pageant Blue Spitfire.
Due to a racing incident my TR4a is off the road for a long time, maybe permanently, so have found what I hope will be a reasonable budget replacement.
The car came a brand new soft top and a rather rusty steel hardtop, and is a 1979 1500 model. Handling seems very good and it feels quite solid for such a small car, but very low powered!
Anyway, I am now looking forward to the summer again, instead of moping around in a depression!
Simon.

Hi Jeff, I think I'm no longer addicted to speed! Nor do I have the budget to develop the car, so its a fun driver for now. I should be picking it up on Wednesday.

Good luck with the Spit, and I hope you get the TR4 fixed.
I sold my F Production Spit to concentrate on the H Production Sprites. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Congradulations! I also have a smurf blue Spitfire! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Way to go Simon. That was fast. What happened to the 5 speed TR7 you were thinking of though?
Can't wait to see it.... drop over any time, on hollidays last three weeks of July. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif
Funny though... I saw a powder blue Spit. here in Bradford last week.

Thanks for all the responses, guys!
I found a British Leyland sticker under the boot lid which tells me this is "Pageant Blue" officially. I think we'll give the car a name, the Blue Snail, (Spitfires are sooo cute!), which means the TR4a must be the Red Rocket!

Anyway, Mary didn't like the wedge, or the TR6, and wasn't keen on an MGB after I've been in the Triumph club for 12 years so it was a Spitfire.

I'll have lots of question for you guys, will start a new thread for that.

Paul I'll try to drop by later this week, must get oil changed.
Simon.
