I know this is a "preaching to the choir" thread. While the is the first "classic" car I've ever owned, I've ridden around in friends cars that are of equal vintage or given "cool" status in pop culture and gearhead circles. I've never seen a car make people smile like my Sprite does.

I've had 10 year olds shout "Cool Car" as I pass. Some of my other favorite comments are "Austin Healey....that's what James Bond drove, right?" or "Hey, that's the car Maxwell Smart drove". Both wrong, but close :fat:

Generally, though, the Sprite is usually greeted by friendly waves and smiles. Lots of smiles. Makes one wonder if more people should be driving them.

It os pretty great. Children love them, I think because of the scale.

I think so as well! You should see how excited kid's get around a Berkeley! They are about 2/3 the size of a spridget.

Kurt.

When my daughter was about 10 years old we saw a Berkeley at a car show and I had trouble convincing her that it was a "real" car. She was sure it was just a go-kart.

So, I had to go look up a Berkeley to see what you guys were talking about. Wow. Of course a SmartCar is even smaller than a Berkeley at 106 inches (but much taller). I always kind of feel a bit sad whenever I see a SmartCar, because I know somewhere a circus is missing its clown car.

That Sprite could not have found a better home!

Well I just back from a local car show in San Diego. Women and kids especially loved my 59 BE. In fact they loved it so much they voted me one of the ten Peoples Choice Awards at the show. There were about three hundred cars at the show so I am feeling a little proud right now. Not bragging, just feeling proud.

Congrats!
