Small world...literally

I've worked with a guy named Paul for many years. He's part of the tech-support team at our college and he often helps me set up AV equipment.

Recently, when he was helping me run my annual FIRST Robotics Kickoff, we had some down-time and somehow got chatting. And I realized for the first time that he is also a car-nut.

As it turns out he's a micro-car enthusiast and owns a vintage FIAT (500 or 600....I can't remember) and an Autobianchi Bianchina.
When I was in college, I actually owned an Autobianchi myself (it met an interesting "end").

We had a great conversation about his cars and mine (I guess my 948 cc Midget might be about the most *micro* car I own). I've invited him to some of our local car events....I hope he comes.

Here's Paul's Autobianchi below:

You can also see it (and other cars that are part of his micro-car group) ~HERE~

Small world indeed!

I love micro cars, though it's unlikely I'd fit in many of them. Still, such a variety of interesting engineering decisions.

love it! what a great car, and, any day a Spridget is one of the big cars is a good day! :D

I love micro cars, really any unusual car, generally European or British... When I lived in Ontario I went to the Micro North meets held there, I believe they still have them JP... :friendly_wink: Every June...

I've been thinking about a road trip one year to a micro car meet in Oregon, just to see some interesting vehicles that I would never see here in hinterland...

Although I did briefly spot an Autobianchi at the local cruise night, only as it was leaving, it sounded like the owner thought of it as a joke car based on what they were saying as I took a photo...

They do indeed - Larry pesters me to go every year. Typically it interferes with my birthday. and, just checked and, yup, once again: https://www.microcar.org/micronorth/

On the other hand the Multipla qualifies even if the Midget doesn't. hmmmm

Just tell your family that Micro North is the best birthday gift ever... :welcoming: You would love it! A much more relaxed atmosphere compared to a car show, and lots of unusual cars...
