sluggish OD, at first

Fuse blocks are readily available at boating parts stores. For those using an inline fuse, where exactly are you locating it? Anywhere in the wire leading to the solenoid?--

Yes thats true . However, I do not like them because they are geberally of the open design and expose the circuits to dirt and accidental short circuits. Location wise new fuse box with a cover is installed where the original use to be. Consequently I can dedicate one of those fises to the OD circuit.-Keoke

I understand. I was thrown by the earlier post saying their was no fuse protection. You are right - 35A is too much and the covered boating fuse blocks are available but harder to find.

Keoke, how about replying to the overdrive lever o ring question above? Need your experience.

I don't see need for an inline fuse on a BJ8. The overdrive relay is connected directly to the 35 A fuse in the fuse block terminal 3. Am I missing something? please explain.
The overdrive is NOT fused stock. If it is not on the side with the green wires, it is hooked up directly to switched hot (the white wire coming from the ignition switch).

My inline fuse holder has a rubber/plastic cover and I used covered connectors, so I don't see any risk of dirt or short circuits.

Right Tim, those are cute, safe and easy to install.
However, the Covered or uncovered conversation is directed at multiple type fuse holders that can be mounted on selected chassis panels not the single fuse inline type.
