slow turning

ok backed off the head nuts and re torqued them. took a warm up spin blowing some white smoke, torqued again hot and then popped out to pick up my girl freind no smoke! i think we are good

tossed in a new starter cylenord and im still having slow turning issues when starting intermittently. I have a new battery new cables and starter motter. running out of options. I have a new ground strap but no good place to jack the car up.

Do you have a ditch you can straddle? Or, don't forget ground is ground. You could attach it to the block with any bolt and to the body on top of the engine - at least till you have time to move it.

ahhh I have it at last!!
I have the starter button in the center of the dash.
with the key in the first postion the engine turns fine

but with the fuel pump on it turns slow!!

now i just have to get my jag back from the shop with all my tools and i can get at it
