My TR3 returns to idle speed slowly after running at higher RPM. It drops to about 1,000 RPM then slowly drops to 600.
Ive centered the jets, slides return with a good thunk, put an extra spring on the linkage. Nothing helps.
Any ideas?

That is a tough one. All my TR3 TR4 high idle problems have always been a result of air bypassing the butterfly. But in this case if it does go down to 600 eventualy then I suspect you have an other issue (maybe this one as well though, so don't write it off). Try and check that the butterfly is centered. Also see if raising the pedal with your foot makes the idel drop right away. If it does then I would suspect the butterfly.

Good luck and let us know.
