Slot Screw on Angle Drive. Whats it for?

Like the Subject says. Theres a little straight slot screw on the side of the speedo cable's angle drive, and I don't know what it is for. I have not pulled the cable yet, and I am ready to do so right now. But before I do, I just want to make sure this isn't some adjuster I'm not supposed to touch.

Thanks!

Also, it looks like I have to pull this angle drive off to even get the cable off. Anything I should know before pulling it?

Like, should I expect a gush of tranny fluid?

Don't lose the washer on the trany when you remove the 90
as it is used as a shim to keep the 90 from becoming defective

I could be wrong but I think the screw probably has a round end that fits into a groove and actually screws in to hold the shaft with the gear on the end in place

Thanks for the help guys. Speedo Cable installed and operational!

I had a quick "OMGF WTF?" moment there for a bit... when I when to snap the end into the gauge I pulled the gray plastic part right off the end. I had to step back and take a breather to keep from losing my cool. All I had to do was push the end back on, push and slightly rotate the cable, then without grabbing the gray plastic end, snap it on to the speedometer.

Now its time to go silicon the cable hole closed

The screw once removed, give you access to grease the angle drive without removing the whole assembly. You would need to have an adaptor for your grease gun with the small pin point head. Discovered this when converting about 20 angle drives to adapt to Toyota transmissions. Bill C. Mesa, Az.
