Slightly OT and wrong forum - but still!

Dunno, Tom - it does have the TR engine!

11 hours left and reserve not met... hmmm.....

Yea, and a seller with only 1 feedback, always gives me a case of the don't wants. Not that I could if I wanted to, heh.

Tinkerman

Not only 1 feedback, but since 2006?

The seller's "I'll do my best to get a legitimate title" comment doesn't make me want to jump in. Plus the heavy corrosion pictured on the alternator, vacumn advance, and carburetors doesn't make the "surface rust only" claim on tubular steel chassis very believable.

If there was a legitimate clear title in NY, he only has to go through the motions of getting a replacement, which he says he is doing. Since it's more then ten years since it showed on the NYS records, the title info has been purged. (I ran across this I when registering my TR3 after it was off the road for over ten years). It's quite do-able, but just a pain in the butt...they make you jump through hoops.

As far as the corrosion on the alternator, etc., a few months outside while not being driven can lead to what you see there. I experience it on my Miata when I don't drive it for several months. It doesn't neccessarily mean all of ferrous metals in the car are disintergrating. Aluminium gets this flaky white oxide on it that makes it look much worse then it actually is.

I'm not saying this is a gem, but it certainly has good potential, and if I had the room in my garage, I'd take the twenty minute drive and check it out. I've always wanted a TVR.

There is another TVR on ebay that ends in two days. Very nice car except for the blue stripe. Cars at $10.000 with the reserve lifted. Item#160340210659. I would like to own one someday but I it would be the very wild Griffith. I may even consider making a clone if the donner car was nearby and in good shape.
