Wow how would you like to be the eng. that was told oh the winch line , and for that matter the frame it's suspended from is going to have carry 25,000 lbs and... make it really light.
what was it 1950's ?maybe 60's when they designed this beast?
bet they wore out a pile of erasers.

Yep - first flew in 1962, as an improvement to the S-60 from the late 1950s.
