thread on how to determine how much has already been taken off the head and how much can be machined off to obtain a flat head?

Initially......Measuring the combustion chamber volume is my preferred method of ascertaining compression ratio, rather than measuring the thickness.
Obviously the valves need to be fitted.
There are formula's on line to determine CR with known volumes.

Everybody says there are formulas online but where are they????????

I haven't looked in while but I went to terriannes triumph site ,web pages, when I first had my head off.
First identify which head you have.High port etc.
Then I recall dimensions from the tstat housing bottom boss to head surface.
Compare this to what you have and that should tell you how much has been removed.
There was lots of good info on her page.
