TR6 Singing

Hello All,
Anybody know what would make a differential hum or sing?
It is very noticeable and annoying.
Other than that car runs great.
Thanks.

Without actually hearing the noise, I'd guess worn ring and pinion gears if it occurs when accelerating. If it's only when decelerating, probably bad pinion bearing.

I assume you checked the fluid.

In addition to worn gears, could be improper setup, or mismatched gears. From what I've heard, many freshly rebuilt diffs whine enough to be annoying. Some have gone as far as saying "They all do that", but I don't believe it.
