Simple fix for leaky tappet cover

My center tappet cover had the dreaded oil leak. Upon close inspection, the leak was coming from the bolt rather than the gasket. Moss sells a cupped washer and rubber grommet that replaces the copper washer. Although I also bought the modern rubber replacement gasket, when I got the parts I stated by just replacing the copper washer with the cup and grommet. I took the car out for a 45 minute run in 85 degree weather and when I came home, the tappet cover area was dry as a bone. I thought I'd pass this on as it is a cheap and easy fix for one of the more common oil leaks.

Best regards,

Bill
