I've just been following a web contact's photos from this race car museum in Philadelphia... https://www.flickr.com/photos/f1design/ And Markus has some killer photos, apparently got the chance to photograph a GT40 Mk II going around the track behind the museum recently, suffice it so say I'm extremely jealous living in the hinterlands where we have nothing cool like this at all... And my travel budget these days is rather limited...

Anyway, back to the museum... Here are a couple of links I found, if I ever make it out that way... And it sounds like they have lots of track events they host as well (the last Saturday of each month, in season of course)...

Wow, way cool! If I ever get to Phili, that will be a definite place to visit!

I went there when I attended MG2008, according to the Dr. Simeone, we were the first group to tour the place, and the tour was narrated my Doc himself. He even fired up a very old MG S/C roadster and took had one of his guys take it for spin in parking lot behind the museum, that was treat for sure, the poor fella got the old girl cooking along pretty good and bout took the fence out, the look on his face was priceless  Very cool place, I highly recommend it, he even has old stock car in the place, my dad drove back in the 50s. I was most impressed with the Bugattis he has, but there are some awesome cars there a must go to in the Philly area for any gearhead/car nut.

Oh and Dr. Simeone is almost a dead ringer for Jack Roush, they could be brothers  He's a real nice man, and has a great collection.

They do demonstrations in the back parking lot on Sundays all the time. Do a you tube deal

A number of members of the British Car Club of the Lehigh Valley went with the Keystone MG club to a special British Car event there earlier this year. It is on my list of places to get to this summer. I just need 40 8-day weeks to get everything done on this summer's list...

Dr. Fred (that's what we call him), is a gifted neurosurgeon. He operated on my mother over 40 years ago, long before many of today's technological marvels were available. Although he could not reverse her spinal cord damage, he was able to give her a much improved quality of life. Our family and Dr. Fred remained in contact for many years and we reunited when the museum collection was unveiled a few years ago. He would never ever tell you but he has always been one of the most generous philanthropists in the Philadelphia area.

Regards!

Yes....I coordinated the visit to the Simeone during MG2008...and we were indeed the first organized group to make the tour.

Dr.Fred and company were great hosts...making sure that all of our questions were answered. The experience of seeing and hearing the K3 Magnette run in the back parking lot was unforgetable.

The week after our visit, Jay Leno had a private tour...and did some filming for "Jay Leno's Garage".

Our race club (VRG) had a private tour but I was unable to make it.
My pals told me it was great.
If they arrange another visit, I'll really try to make it.

Just FYI, I just approved a registration of someone from this museum. Hope they jump in and participate! The person lists an MG TD as their car.
