Sill work - what to measure before I get started

Hi folks. Before I dig into my sills I am wondering what baseline measurements I should take. I have measured the door and bonnet gaps all around. What else? Are there other critical measurements I should take as I go through the removal process?

Number of fingers on each hand, amount of skin on arms.

I didn't measure anything when I did mine, but I didn't replace the entire sills, only the front parts of each. It is also a GT, so from where I am, it looks pretty good.

Take LOTS of pictures.

Tim, I would suggest measuring the door openings, top, botttom, and diagonally. Also, do diagonals from the front of one door to the rear of the other, both ways. Whenever I tackle sills, I usually tack weld a brace front to rear across both door openings, but that may be considered overkill by some.

Measurements are in the back of the Bentley...only tackle 1 side at a time.

Great advice, thank you all.

I will skip measuring the wallet, though! This job is going to be scary enough as it is. But at the same time I am looking forward to it.

I will brace across the door even though I am hopeful that the inner sill will not need replacement. I'll also brace across the width of the car. This is likely overkill but I'd rather err on the side of caution rather than have something move.

I'll second the photos. You cannot take too many photos. Dont worry too much about measurements.

I just put a board in between the openings and called it good. I didnt measure either, and when all was said and done, it didnt seem to sag because I did only one side at a time. I also didnt think the inner sills would need replacing, but I changed my thinking when I opened her up and saw the rust.
